Newborn Photography Sessions

Capturing your brand new baby

The photo sessions.

Newborn portrait sessions are the perfect way to capture the love surrounding your brand new baby. I am a safety certified, fully licensed and insured newborn photographer in northwest Pennsylvania and happily offer a variety of newborn photo shoots to better serve postpartum families.

Families with brand new babies already have so much on their plates; so, I strive to make newborn sessions as stress free as possible! Whether you're looking for a Fresh 48 photo shoot in an Erie, PA hospital, or a posed, studio newborn session, I provide everything necessary for beautiful customized newborn portraits that you'll cherish forever.

From booking to photo selection.

Upon booking, every client will receive a welcome packet detailing my process as well as a session questionnaire and prep guide. These are vital for you and me! Your answers on your questionnaire will help me to tailor the session to you and your baby. The prep guide will let you know exactly what to expect from your session and how to best prepare your baby.

Once your newborn portrait session is complete you'll receive a link to your proofing gallery. This is where you'll find the very best images from your session. You'll be able to log in and choose your favorite images. From there, I'll fully edit your favorite images for you to download and keep. You know your family best; and I've found, without fail, that families always choose at least one or two images that surprise me! I always love seeing which images my clients have chosen!

FAQ

When should I have newborn photos taken?

The best time for a newborn photography session is those first few weeks of life. I pencil in newborn sessions for about a week after your due date, keeping in mind that our session date is flexible and may change depending upon when baby decides to arrive!

When should I book my newborn photo shoot?

I recommend contacting me in your second trimester to ensure availability.

Can we include family in our newborn session?

Yes, absolutely! I have a wide variety of packages to fit the needs of different families.

Do I need to bring outfits for my baby?

I always tell parents that you don't need to bring anything but your baby! I provide everything that we'll need for our session. Creating beautiful sets for each family is something that I'm truly passionate about and take great pride in! Your session questionnaire helps me to tailor your newborn portrait session to you and your family.

How much are newborn photos?

My newborn portrait sessions start at $300. I'd love to answer questions you may have or talk about your vision for your baby's photoshoot! Contact me for a full list of package and pricing options!

Which newborn photo shoot is right for me?

I offer several different types of newborn photography sessions.

Fresh 48 sessions take place in your hospital recovery room, typically UPMC Magee-Womens hospital or AHN St. Vincent hospital. They focus on all of the tiny details of your brand new baby while you're still in the hospital. These simple, minimalistic sessions usually take place on the day you're checking out of the hospital.

Lifestyle sessions take place in the comfort of your own home and capture the love between family members, baby's nursery, and the tiny details that you'll want to remember forever. These sessions are less styled and more about capturing your family's connection during this fleeting time.

Studio newborn sessions take place at my Girard, Pennsylvania studio, typically when baby is between 7-14 days old. They involve a variety of sets, props, wraps, outfits, and posing for classic, timeless newborn photos that you'll cherish forever.

What is your rescheduling policy?

Being a mom of 3, I understand that things happen, sometimes at inconvenient times! I ask that you give me 24 hours notice if you need to reschedule. I'll then give you a list of available dates for our session.

I'm a first time mom, and nervous about someone else holding my baby.

Safety is always the number one priority when it comes to being a baby and child photographer. In addition to raising 3 babies of my own, I've completed multiple safety courses and enroll in in-person newborn educational training workshops every year to continue my education. I will never put your baby in a pose that they are uncomfortable with. Your precious little one is in safe hands when you schedule a newborn photo shoot with me.
