The photo sessions.
When I'm photographing a family session, I strive to really capture the spirit of your family. I try to make my family shoots as stress-free and as fun as possible! For families with young children, we'll play games, sing songs, and I'll probably make lots of silly noises! For families with older kids, I love using prompts to spark a genuine interaction between loved ones. My goal is to capture your family at their best and enjoying your time together. My prior experience as a teacher plays a huge role in helping your child to feel relaxed, at ease, and happy throughout our photo shoot.
From booking to photo selection.
Families with young children are extremely busy; so my goal is to make family photo shoots as stress free as possible! Upon booking, every client will receive a welcome packet detailing my process as well as a session questionnaire and prep guide. These are vital for you and me! Your answers on your questionnaire will help me to tailor the session to you and your family. The prep guide will let you know exactly what to expect from your session and how to best prepare your children.
Once your family portrait session is complete you'll receive a link to your proofing gallery. This is where you'll find the very best images from your session. You'll be able to log in and choose your favorite images. From there, I'll fully edit your favorite images for you to download and keep. You know your family best; and I've found, without fail, that families always choose at least one or two images that surprise me! I always love seeing which images my clients have chosen!

Where should I take family photos?
Family portrait sessions can be held in my photography studio, located on Main Street in Girard, PA, or outdoors at one of the many beautiful locations around Erie, PA. Check out some of my favorite locations in Erie, PA here!
Can I include our pets in the family photos?
Absolutely! I'm a huge animal lover, and love when families bring their pets with them to their portrait session! Please be sure to let me know ahead of time that you're interested in including your pet.
How long will my family photo shoot last?
I offer several different sessions to fit the needs of most families. I normally recommend a half hour session for a family with young children. If you're looking for an extended family photo shoot, I normally recommend an hour to capture individual families and group images. Please contact me to see package and pricing information.
What should we wear for our photo shoot?
Planning everyone's outfits is the hardest part of a portrait session! Once you've booked your session, you'll receive a prep guide with tips and tricks for styling your family. I also have a complimentary client closet available with certain packages. My client closet has a variety of bump-friendly gowns, children's clothing in certain sizes, and comes with a styling consultation where I'll help you decide on outfits for everyone.
What is your rescheduling policy?
Being a mom of 3, I understand that things happen, sometimes at inconvenient times! I ask that you give me 24 hours notice if you need to reschedule. I'll then give you a list of available dates for our session.
How much are family photos?
Family sessions start at $400. I'd love to answer questions you may have or talk about your vision for your family's photoshoot! Contact me for a full list of package and pricing options!
When should I book a family photo shoot?
I recommend booking family sessions at least two months in advance.
What if my child is shy/uncooperative?
I strive to keep photo shoots as fun and light-hearted as possible. Being a former Kindergarten teacher turned photographer in Erie, I love interacting with kids! I've found that the more fun they have, the better your images will be! We'll listen to music, play games, make silly noises, or they can just settle in for a snuggle with you.My goal is to allow your child's personality to shine through in your images. When you fill out your session questionnaire, it gives me a lot of insight as to who your child is and will help me customize your session. By allowing your children to be themselves, we'll capture some wonderful moments!
What should we bring to our session?
Your prep guide has a list of helpful items to have on hand during our photo shoot; but the best thing you can bring with you is a great attitude! Enjoy this special time with your family, relax, and have fun!
